In Acts 8:26-31, we understand that the Ethiopian eunuch desired knowledge but needed someone to guard him.  Philip asked him, “Do you understand what you are reading?” and the man wondered how he could “unless someone explains it” to him. So, he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
